The Moulin de la Veyssière in the Dordogne

This is an old mill located in Neuvic sur l’Isle. Mill still in operation to produce: High quality walnut, hazelnut, almond and peanut oils. Eve Tavernier also appreciates artisanal virgin walnut and hazelnut oils, oils that flow in golden streams from the press, under the delighted eyes of visitors surprised by the gestures of the millers, smugglers with a sure gesture since the night of the time, in this place steeped in history. The historic millstone still turns, grinding the dried fruit at the steady pace of the machinery (electric today, though river water propulsion still works). A new millstone, with old stone, has joined the workshop to face the success.

Eve Tavernier: my favorite of the day goes to the latest addition to the family, a virgin peanut oil from Soustons (in the nearby Landes). A fine oil in taste and subtle!
