The routing of raw materials is increasingly complicated due to the war in Ukraine. A shortage of glass is feared by wine producers.

At the Domaine de Rochebin, in Péronne (Saône-et-Loire), 15,000 bottles are bottled per day. But Laurent Chardigny, co-manager of the estate, is worried, because he will not be able to keep up this pace for long. “At the weekend, no more bottles. I have no more bottle supplies until mid-June”, laments the winemaker. In order not to put four of his employees on technical unemployment, the winegrower is looking for new suppliers.

“Today, we are no longer looking at the bottle, we take what we find. It has to be a Burgundian, and we will have a more or less heavy bottle, of a different color”Explain Laurent Chardigny. In one year, glass has increased by 20%. In question, the health crisis and the war in Ukraine. A cooperative winery, a few kilometers away, lost a month of circulation, i.e. 100,000 bottles. The shortage of glass is also accompanied by a lack of dry materials, such as cardboard or aluminum caps.
