10,000 people to encourage Tango. Unheard of in National in Laval and the highest attendance for nearly ten years in Le Basser. This Friday is the last home game of a breathtaking season (only one defeat so far in 2022 and on the return phase!) with the reception of Red Star (11th).
Since the formalization of the accession to Ligue 2 last Monday, the players of Stade Lavallois have been on their little cloud. But the season is not over and they want to finish in style. Going conquer the title of champion, which has never happened in the history of the Mayenne club. The players therefore but also the staff and the leaders made it their icing on the cake as they say. Bring a trophy to the club, a line in the charts. And even if the bodies are tired, there’s no question of lowering the tone, says midfielder Julien Maggiotti: “there will be no relaxation on Friday. We played in front of our families who will be at the stadium. It’s a party but for it to be beautiful, it needs a victory at the end. With the 10,000 people present, it will be an additional motivation. Even with a little fatigue in the head and in the legs, it will push us.“
The players have become a group of friends over the weeks and we have to go to the end of this adventure, proclaims defender Yasser Baldé: “it’s just a bonus, we’ll fill the stadium. We are going to play a very good Red Star team which is better oiled than in the first leg, we too are performing well, beautiful lawn, beautiful stadium, we are in Ligue 2. Frankly, there is no pressure to have put aside, put on a really good game and go for that title.“
Whatever the outcome this Friday, the party at the stadium and in downtown Laval will live up to expectations (five years of National). And if in addition, the title is acquired, we will certainly remember May 6, 2022 for a long time.
