Marine Le Pen was booed by around fifty opponents during the speech she gave on Tuesday, November 9 in Bayeux, Calvados, to celebrate the legacy of General de Gaulle, who died 51 years ago, France reported Normandy blue. Left-wing elected officials and CGT Solidaires unionists went to meet him to denounce a “political recovery”. They were kept at a distance from this speech, at the very place where the general spoke in June 1944 after the landing and in June 1946 on the future Constitution.
The candidate of the National Rally for the 2022 presidential election also laid a wreath in front of the Cross of Lorraine, in Courseulles-sur-Mer. Marine Le Pen praised the “memory” of the general, “strength” and “the balance of its institutions”. “We have the same vision of France as de Gaulle, that of a sovereign, independent and powerful France”, said Marine Le Pen without ever paying attention to the sounds of sirens triggered by his opponents. “Like him, we fight with passion, with good reason”, she added, believing that de Gaulle, if he was not a nationalist, had a “national vision”.
