(Toronto) The panel of jurors who will have the mandate to hear the sexual assault trial of Canadian rocker Jacob Hoggard was formed on Wednesday in Toronto.

The Hedley singer was charged in 2018 with sexual assault causing bodily harm and sexual interference with a person under the age of 16, in connection with events that allegedly involved a woman and a teenage girl.
Hoggard pleaded not guilty to the charges Wednesday morning in a downtown Toronto courtroom. The prosecution is expected to deliver its opening statement on Thursday.
The trial was supposed to open in January 2021, but it has been postponed several times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is now expected to last until early June.
The alleged victims cannot be identified due to a publication ban, nor can several witnesses who must be called during the trial.
