By writing his symphony, known as the ” New world », Antonin Dvorak uses the instruments at his disposal at the end of the 19th century.
Almost 130 years later, Gilles Colliard and Toulouse Chamber Orchestra had fun revisiting it using instruments that didn’t exist at the time. Violins, violas, cellos and electric basses join the acoustic strings, and a digital piano provides the wind parts and multiplies the “special effects”.
With this technology, the 18 musicians of the orchestra can “hold” the score, where this work calls for a symphony orchestra.
Be the first to come and discover this symphony N°9, from the new world of Antonin Dvořák, the Thursday May 12 and Friday May 13, 2022 – 8:30 p.m. at the Auditorium St-Pierre-des-Cuisines – 2 Place Saint-Pierre, Toulouse, and the Tuesday May 24 and Wednesday May 25, 2022 – 8:30 p.m. to Tournefeuille Stopover – place Roger Panouse, Tournefeuille.
