After the agreement concluded with Europe-Écologie-Les-Verts on Monday May 2 in view of the legislative elections, La France insoumise continues its discussions, Tuesday May 3, with the Communists and the Socialists. The journalist Alexander Peyroutpresent on the 8 Hours set, takes stock of these negotiations.
Monday, May 2, the left-wing parties Europe-Écologie-Les-Verts (EELV) and La France insoumise (BIA) agreed on a common platform for the legislative elections. Discussions continue, however, with the Communists and Socialists, Tuesday, May 3, with sticking points. “First on the socialist side, there is the question of disobedience to the treaties of the European Union which is dear to Jean-Luc Mélenchon. The term disobedience, clearly, Olivier Faure does not want it”explains the journalist Alexandre Peyroutpresent on the set of 8 Heures, Tuesday, May 3.
The main blocking point lies in the “distribution of constituencies. On the socialist side, the Insoumis want to give them around 70. That’s less than they gave the Greens [dimanche 1er mai]around 100 constituencies”says Alexander Peyrout. Socialists “especially want to keep their group in the Assembly, around 25 deputies today”concludes the journalist. A question that also arises for the communists.
