The ashes of the Phoenix system

Will the Phoenix system rise from its ashes? In what form ? For now, it is more discreet than ever. As if he never existed.

However, its imprint remains very real, especially for people who are waiting for the payment of amounts owed to them. I am retired, and I am referring here to a measure which ended, in 2013, the payment of compensation equivalent to one week’s salary per year of seniority upon retirement. Civil servants had the choice to receive this allowance immediately or to wait until retirement to receive it. I chose the second option. And then came the creation of Phoenix, with everything we’ve read and heard about it. We know that hundreds of millions of dollars have been spent on developing and implementing this system. But do we know today how much the Phoenix adventure really amounts to? And do we have the slightest idea of what taxpayers will still have to pay by the end of the adventure?

In the meantime, I am still awaiting my indemnity, nineteen months after my retirement. My numerous follow-up calls to the Customer Contact Center to inquire about the processing of my file have gone unheeded. I am told that my file is being processed, or that it has not yet been assigned. I am told to be patient and call back later. But I’m a little fed up. It is just ridiculous. Not only can I not take advantage of this money, but all the files that go on and on and on continue to cost all taxpayers money. And you can surely count these cases in the tens of thousands. At this stage, I hope that it is not my beneficiaries who will have to ensure the follow-up of my file if I were to die before receiving my compensation.
