Discussions continue, Tuesday, May 3, between LFI, the PS and the Communists with a view to a large union on the left for the legislative elections. The point, at midday, with the journalist Alexandre Peyrout.

After 16 hours of discussions, Monday, May 2, between the Socialist Party and France Insoumise, the agreement has still not been signed. “What gets stuck is [d’abord] the notion of disobedience to the European treaties, dear to rebellious France but which embarrasses the Socialist Party. But what is debating today is more the question of the distribution of constituencies“, reports the journalist Alexandre Peyrout, in duplex from the headquarters of the party of France Insoumise, Tuesday, May 3.

The Socialists would like to obtain more than the 60 constituencies offered to them by the Insoumis, in order to “keep their autonomous group in the National Assembly and not appear as the losers of this great agreement on the left“, details the journalist. The objective, for the parties of the left, is to find an agreement before the end of the day. “They want to capitalize on this symbolic date of May 3, since today is the anniversary of the election of the Popular Front, in 1936“, concludes Alexandre Peyrout.
