A mother was found stabbed to death overnight from Saturday to Sunday in Vaulx-en-Velin (Rhône), before her husband was placed in police custody, franceinfo learned from a police source.
The woman was found dead shortly after 1 a.m. from multiple stab wounds. The husband of the victim, aged 39, first fled by car, before going to the police station. The three of the couple’s five children who were present at the home at the time, aged 4, 10 and 12, were taken to hospital for psychological treatment, according to the Lyon prosecutor’s office. The two eldest, 18 and 21, were absent.
The man was not known for domestic violence on his wife, said the prosecution, but a police source adds that he was known for minor crimes. The Departmental Security has been seized of the investigation.
