Boris Becker was sentenced by a London court to two and a half years in prison on Friday April 29. The three-time Wimbledon winner, who has had multiple legal troubles since retiring from sport, was found guilty of hiding three million euros to avoid paying his debts.

Boris Becker was sentenced and imprisoned on Friday April 29 in the United Kingdom. The former tennis champion appeared in the afternoon, on the arm of his partner, before a London court. He was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for fraudulent bankruptcy, and found guilty of having concealed several million euros in order not to pay his debts, estimated at nearly 60 million.

The 54-year-old German icon left court in a van. He is incarcerated in a prison in the suburbs of London (UK). Youngest player in the world to lift a Grand Slam trophy at the age of 17, he then became world number and a real star. Retired, became a consultant for television, he then went on to setbacks: excessive alcohol, drugs, divorce, depression and financial mismanagement. Boris Becker will have to serve at least 15 months in prison before hoping to be released.
