A supervisor of the Baumettes penitentiary center, in Marseille, was indicted for raping a detainee, AFP learned from the Marseille prosecutor’s office on Saturday April 30, confirming information from BFMTV.
The prosecution did not wish to communicate further on the subject. He simply specified that the person implicated had also been placed “under assisted witness status for another part of these same facts” of rape.
According to the daily Provencethe facts denounced “would have taken place between last summer and the month of March”. The Baumettes prison, located in the southern districts of Marseille, has a women’s section with around a hundred places.
