While the time is for union, the leader of rebellious France Jean-Luc Mélenchon had to calm things down this Thursday, April 28 by reassuring the other left-wing parties: he will not necessarily be the leader of the left. for the legislative ones.

The Socialist Party is torn in particular over this union despite a first meeting deemed positive. The risk of seeing socialist candidates disappear in the majority of constituencies frightens certain party executives such as the former President of the Republic François Hollande, who stresses that if “ddiscussing is necessary, disappearing is impossible”.

Another provocation, a leaflet distributed for a few days by LFI announcing the color : “Jean-Luc Melenchon Prime Minister”. Other parties such as Europe Écologie Les Verts or the French Communist Party warn against “the hegemony of rebellious France” and demand guarantees not to fall into a return match of the presidential election. An alliance which therefore remains to be concretized for the forces of the left which have set next week as a deadline to agree on the constituencies and a program.
