Emmanuel Macron went to Cergy (Val-d’Oise) to talk to French people. A first outing since his re-election during which he left clues concerning the identity of his future Prime Minister.

Passing through the Saint-Christophe market in Cergy (Val-d’Oise) on Wednesday April 27, Emmanuel Macron made his first public outing since his re-election. Here, 76% of voters voted for him in the second round of the presidential election. In the first round, however, it was Jean-Luc Mélenchon who came out on top in the first round, so a few boos were heard. The President of the Republic notably escaped a jet of tomatoes. But very quickly, he resumed his visit, ready to show that he is back on the pitch.

Questioned by several inhabitants, Emmanuel Macron recognizes that there is a “feeling of abandonment”. “Being there means that I have been in working-class neighborhoods for the campaign, I want to be there too in the first hours”, he points out. To ward off this distrust, it will be necessary in particular to win the battle of the legislative elections. Faced with questions about the identity of his future Prime Minister to lead the campaign, the Head of State affirms that it will be “someone who is attached to the social question, to the environmental question and to the productive question”.
