The scandal continues for Patrick Poivre d’Arvor. Accused of violence and sexual harassment by sixteen women who filed a complaint against the 26 witnesses, the former TF1 journalist has been in media withdrawal for several years. While a terrible testimony was shared during “Complementary investigations” this Thursday, April 28, 2022the women affected by this tragedy received a real slap in learning that he had filed a complaint against them for defamation last Tuesday.
Among the alleged victims of Patrick Poivre d’Arvor, there is Cécile Delarue. The latter is part of the MeTooMédias association. While some victims regret having broken the silence, this is not the case. “I do not regret. I think this is also the case for other women. I do not represent them all but we are part of the MeTooMedias association which was created after this action. So yes, obviously we would like not to be prosecuted, but if we have to be prosecuted, if we have to go to court, obviously we will. Especially since certain testimonies are prescribed, there we are given access to justice. The problem we have is when the facts are not prescribed, the women do not dare to file a complaint and I do not think that the action of Patrick Poivre d’Arvor will help them to go there. We want to reassure them, tell them to trust justice. You will be heard. You will be able to obtain justice, then not necessarily completely, because we know that in cases of rape, there are still very few cases where the rapists are convicted, but at least to be able to have their word heard in a court of law” she told FranceInfo.
Asked about the complaint the former companion of Claire Chazal,Cécile Delarue shared her dismay on the set of It’s up to you. “We discovered this complaint in the media. It was not notified to us. When I saw the articles go by, I didn’t want to read. It annoys me, it touches me, it moves me. I find it unfair, I find it quite despicable the accusation of lies. The idea is that we are a conspiracy of sixteen women, who did not know each other before (…) We would have ganged up to lie (…) Even if it meant being a liar, I should have lied very loudly (…) We are very bad manipulators” she protested. Moreover, one of his colleagues would also have been a victim of PPDA. It remains to be seen whether their fight will end in victory.
