(Montreal) The great lady of Quebec country music, Julie Daraîche, died just as she was about to celebrate her 84th birthday. His daughter Dani made the announcement Tuesday on social media.

According to the information sent by her daughter, Julie Daraîche was on stage for the last time last Sunday at the bar Jam country Lanjeu in the east of Montreal.
Originally from Gaspésie, Julie Daraîche became known in the early 1960s before rubbing shoulders with other big names in country like Marcel Martel.
She later established her notoriety alongside her brother Paul and other members of the Daraîche family, whose numerous albums and tours have delighted country song lovers in Quebec.
