A man attacked police officers, Monday, November 8 in the morning, in Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes). Back to the facts.
The facts took place Monday, November 8 in the morning, in the center of Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes), at the foot of the central police station. A man attacked several police officers who were in a company car parked in the parking lot. After attacking a first officer, the man attempted to attack a second, but was shot by a third police officer.
“Fortunately, the bulletproof vest protected the policeman”, underlines the mayor of Cannes, David Lisnard (LR). The assailant was hospitalized at midday on Monday. His prognosis was engaged. On the side of the police, two police officers were slightly injured, but are especially very shocked. The suspect, Lakhdar B., is said to be a 37-year-old Algerian. He had an Italian residence permit. At midday, the anti-terrorism prosecution had not taken up the investigation. The man is not known to the French intelligence services.
