While the injection of the second booster dose has just started for people aged 60 and over, the last vaccination centers in our sector are closing! There are already only four left in Loire-Atlantique and one in Vendée. On Saturday, there will only be one in each department: on the island of Yeu for Vendée and, a priori, in Nantes for Loire-Atlantique.
And if the vaccination center on the island of Yeu, located in the hospital, remains open, it is because it is the only place on the island where you can receive an injection. Currently, slots are opened once every 10 days. Elsewhere in the department, all the centers had already closed at the end of March. La Roche-sur-Yon last, on March 26, after having provided 224,000 injections in 15 months.
In Loire-Atlantique, apart from Nantes where the festive Nantes-Erdre hall should remain open, everywhere else we close. In Ancenis, where the center had been transferred to the hospital, at the end of March with only three days of opening per week lately and even if there are a little more people with the second dose of reminder for 60 years and over. In Châteaubriant and Saint-Nazaire where the LiFE, the large hall of the submarine base, will resume its programming.
And that should not pose any problem for the rest of the vaccination. This is affirmed by the union of pharmacists who already provide 90% of so-called “city” injections (those practiced by them, by doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, etc.). Quite simply because despite the extension of the second reminder, they only see very, very few patients: an average of three people per day and per pharmacy last week. They can do a lot more.
