Perfect equality between Marine Le Pen and Emmanuel Macron in a village in Vaucluse

Vines as far as the eye can see… a few olive trees, cyclists all against a backdrop of birdsong. Nothing seems to be able to disturb the calm of Saint-Hyppolyte-le-Graveyron (Vaucluse). In this small village of 180 souls at the foot of Ventoux, 83% of voters mobilized this Sunday, a rate well above the national average. But surprise during the count: 61 people voted for Marine Le Pen and 61 others for Emmanuel Macron. Perfect equality!

To each his own explanation

Chance for some, coincidence for others, each has its own explanation. “We are not 50,000 inhabitants. Perfect parity in a big city would be unfeasible“says a retired resident.

A movie script!

The situation is reminiscent of some old films that made viewers happy. But The reality is quite different. “We are not Clochemerle! We continue to live together” he says. A feeling shared by a resident who manages guest rooms. “I don’t feel like there’s a disconnect between us. Especially after the fires this summer. When we were expelled, we all ended up together. There was great solidarity“. Philosopher, a resident met on the steps of his door recalls that it is simply what is called “democracy”.
