The Metropolitan highway was closed on Sunday at the height of the galleries of Anjou, in Montreal, due to work to dismantle part of the overpass on boulevard des Galeries-d’Anjou.
The work, which began Saturday evening around 10 p.m., was to require the complete closure of this major artery of the metropolis until 11 a.m. Sunday morning.
The service roads of the Metropolitan Expressway were also closed in the area and were to remain inaccessible until 2 p.m.
Thus, motorists had to find an alternative route to bypass the work area. A route on the municipal road network has been set up by the Ministère des Transports du Québec (MTQ).
Motorists are probably not at the end of their sentences in this sector since “other similar closures will be required for the continuation of the project”, underlined the MTQ.
