The Lions come home empty-handed

It was without defender Olivier Galipeau and forward Alexis D’Aoust that the Trois-Rivières Lions played this second playoff game against the Newfoundland Growlers. However, the latter did not leave the Trifluviens a chance as they won by a score of 6 to 2. The Lions therefore returned to Mauricie 0-2 behind in their series.

During this game, it was the Lions who were able to open the scoring in the first period. On the sequence, forward Shawn St-Amant isolated himself behind the Newfoundland defense to slide the puck under goalkeeper Keith Petruzzelli. The Growlers, however, were able to respond a few moments later through Isaac Johnson who beat Philippe Desrosiers with an excellent shot. With just over two minutes left in the engagement, Ryan Chyzowski grabbed a throwback to give his team the lead.
