Two years since the E. Leclerc shopping mall in Saint-Denis-lès-Sens had no longer hosted the Miss Yonne competition. The public was at the rendezvous, the atmosphere too.
A long-awaited meeting
The municipality of Saint-Denis-lès-Sens has been hosting this competition for five years. Last year, the candidates could not present themselves to the jury because of the health crisis. Only the regional selections could be held. This return sounds like a relief for Yves Roger, president of the Miss Burgundy Committee, according to whom this departmental selection is essential for the rest of the competition: “It’s a way to put the foot to the curry to the future Miss who will reach the election of Miss Burgundy and perhaps that of Miss France“.
Indeed, it is not only a question of striking a pose but of knowing how to speak in public, arouse admiration and convince the audience that you are the Miss who will best represent your department.
The public involved in the choice of its Miss
The Miss Burgundy committee has chosen to give more power to the public for this edition. As during the election of Miss France, the icaunais were able to vote by SMS to support the one they would like to see on the podium of the three finalists.
An additional challenge for the candidates who had to stage themselves to mobilize their virtual community, on social networks, in order to collect as many votes as possible.
Maëlle Perreau, 20, from Cuy, won the crown of Miss Yonne 2022. Perrine Peltier was named first Dauphine. Marie Galé is second Dauphine. The three finalists of the competition are qualified for the election of Miss Burgundy 2022 which will take place on October 9, in Autun, in Soane et Loire.
