Few surprises on the side of the demerged cities of Montreal, where the re-elections were numerous Sunday evening.
Outgoing mayors Michel Gibson (Kirkland), Georges Bourelle (Beaconsfield), Paola Hawa (Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue) and Mitchell Brownstein (Côte-Saint-Luc) all won their bet.
At the time of publication, Pointe-Claire independent candidate Tim Thomas was slightly ahead of outgoing mayor John Belvedere. Accountant Jeremy Levi had also beaten outgoing mayor of Hampstead, William Steinberg.
Outgoing councilor Marc Doret (Dorval) also obtained the title of mayor.
In addition, businessman Peter J. Malouf made his debut as Town Hall of Mount Royal.
The mayors of Baie-D’Urfé, Westmount, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, L’Île-Dorval, Montréal-Ouest and Senneville were elected without opposition.
