A 25-year-old man in his vehicle had the scare of his life when he was hit by a CP train in the Lachine borough of Montreal overnight from Thursday to Friday.
The driver passed around 11 p.m. a heavy goods vehicle immobilized at a level crossing on Fairway Street, between the 46th and the 50th coming, before entering the railway tracks, despite the hazard warning lights.
The driver did not see the train arrive and his vehicle was then struck at low speed by the locomotive and dragged for several meters before the train stopped.
Miraculously, the young driver was not injured, but he was treated for nervous shock, according to the Montreal Police Department.
Collision investigators went to the scene overnight to analyze the scene and try to better understand the circumstances of this accident.
