Adrien Fourmaux took the start this Friday of the 3rd rally of the season. Victim of a road trip on Monte-Carlo in January then of an engine problem in Sweden in February, the northern driver of the M-Sport team absolutely needs to achieve a result on the roads of Croatia. the Seclinois needs points to finally start his season.
As during the first 2 WRC rallies, the Seclinois opens the doors of his universe to us. This month Adrien Fourmaux introduces us, once again, to one of the many essential people in his quest for performance: Patrick Magaud, his opener. The 2 men were guests of France Bleu Nord:
The opener of Loeb and Ogier
Patrick Magaud, nicknamed “Patou” is 63 years old. In 1997, he was vice-champion of France in rallies. He was the opener for Sébastien Loeb and Sébastien Ogier, the 2 French world champions: “The day of the race, we pass on the track 1H30 to 2H before the pilot and his co-pilot. This allows them to update their notes taken in the preceding days.”
The choice of words
Adrien Fourmaux has been working with Patrick Magaud for 2 years: “He is accompanied by Pascal, his co-driver. Here in Croatia, their role is essential. They are our eyes. But you have to have a very good feeling. In this relationship, the precision of the vocabulary used is a central element. Patrick must understand my grading system.”
