Quebecor media received three nominations for the Judith-Jasmin and Antoine-Désilets awards, which recognize the work of members of the Professional Federation of Quebec Journalists (FPJQ).
Journalist Nora T. Lamontagne is nominated in the Politics and Social Issues category for her report “18 lives sacrificed fighting COVID” illustrated by portraits by artist Élizabeth Simard. The report, published on March 13, 2021, focused on the valiant health and social service workers who fought tirelessly against the coronavirus at the risk of their lives during the 1st year of the pandemic.
In the Sports category, Marie-Christine Noël and Ninon Pednault of the Quebecor Bureau of Investigation received a nomination for the report “Pressure”, released on April 29, 2021, in which six Olympians in figure skating testify to the dark side of their careers
Finally, the photographer Ben Pelosse is nominated for an Antoine-Désilets prize (photography) in the Sports category for his photo entitled “The hidden face of shame”. This snapshot of a CH fan, ashamed with a paper bag on his head when the Habs had one of their worst starts to the season, was published on December 3, 2021.
The winners will be known on May 7.
