After discussing purchasing power, the two candidates for the presidency of the Republic were asked to speak about the conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
“France’s role is first of all to support in order to resist, to support Ukraine financially and by welcoming”began by declaring Emmanuel Macron. “We must step up and hold this line while ensuring that this war does not spread.”
The candidate also felt that Europe must be with France “a power of balance” in order to bring Russia to a ceasefire.
Marine Le Pen, she expressed her “solidarity” to the Ukrainian people and hailed their adversary: “The efforts you have developed deserve to be highlighted.”
The RN representative also indicated that she was “Okay” with all the sanctions, with the exception of a possible blockade of Russian gas and oil imports, a subject of current debate at European level.
“I expressed a fear…that China and Russia would become close allies, an economic, monetary, perhaps military superpower that could pose a danger to France and the West”concluded Le Pen.
Very quickly, Emmanuel Macron wanted to recall that the candidate had used a loan from a Russian bank.
“You depend on Russian power and Putin”he launched live, referring to the financing of his 2017 campaign.
