Attack fails Price

For the second time in as many games this season, Carey Price had no offensive support, so much so that the Montreal Canadiens lost 2-0 to the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday at the Bell Centre.

Once again, the 34-year-old masked man didn’t look bad, far from it. He stopped 28 of the 30 pucks he faced, while allowing two goals on 19 shots in his first appearance of the campaign, Friday against the New York Islanders.

In addition, the Habs goalkeeper has still not seen his teammates find the back of the net when he is on the ice, he who suffered a 3-0 loss against the “Isles”.

In the duel of the day, Price will not have much to reproach himself for. He yielded for the first time on a one-timer shot by Kevin Fiala, on the power play in the first twenty. The Wild forward has also reached the 30-goal mark for the first time in his career.

Matt Boldy was the second to beat the crowd-favorite doorman. The rookie took advantage of a generous rebound of the puck on the bay window behind the CH cage to fire a shot with his stick between his legs, while Price had been deported.

Tyler Pitlick will have to wait

Carey Price almost celebrated his team’s first goal while in uniform. In the second period, Tyler Pitlick pounced on a loose puck in the slot to beat goaltender Cam Talbot.

The Wild, however, decided to reassess the validity of the goal with the video review and won, thus canceling the first success of Tyler, Rem’s cousin, also with the CH, in the blue, white and red uniform.

On the sequence, Laurent Dauphin came into contact with Frederick Gaudreau around the opposing net and the latter hit his goalkeeper, interfering with his work.

This allowed Talbot to preserve his shutout, his third of the campaign and his 27th in career, thanks to a performance of 26 parades.

The CH will be in action again Thursday at the Bell Center, while the Philadelphia Flyers will be passing through.
