A man was sentenced Tuesday, April 19 by the court of Châteauroux (Indre) to 18 months in prison for domestic violence, a sentence greater than the requisitions of the prosecutor who asked for 12 months in prison, reports France Bleu Berry. On Friday, he attacked his wife and two children by beating them. He is also prohibited from contacting his partner and from going to his home. His wife will benefit from an anti-reconciliation bracelet for six months.
The man was fresh out of rehab on Friday and hadn’t seen his kids in nine months. He therefore wanted to spend Easter with his family and went to his companion’s home to find them. When he arrived, the situation degenerated. His 17-year-old son insulted him. He was then thrown to the ground by his father who punched him. Her 12-year-old daughter wanted to intervene and her father slapped her. At the hearing, the forties acknowledged the facts while minimizing them. “I put my son on the ground to calm him down. He was sticking his chest out, it upset me”, he launched in front of the judges. Last September, he had already been sentenced for acts of domestic violence. He had since been banned from contacting his girlfriend.
