Thierry d’Aigremont, the boss of the National Rally in Vaucluse discovered it this Sunday not without surprise: his party chose one of his photos with Marine Le Pen to illustrate the candidate’s latest poster in the presidential election. This is a first for a Vaucluse, thus highlighted in a national election.
The photo was taken from life, during the last visit of the president of the National Rally in Vaucluse last month. “A photographer accompanies Marine Le Pen throughout France. The communications team called me a few days ago to tell me that I appeared in a photo that they liked, but I did not know that it was going to become the official poster of the 2022 campaign! “says Thierry d’Aigremont.
A way to attract the electorate of Vaucluse?
Even if Vaucluse has long been a land of electoral conquest for the parties of the national right, Thierry d’Aigremont remains lucid: “I am only known by a handful of people here. It will please those who know me to see a Vauclusien on the poster, it is a source of pride. Corn it will have no impact on the vote at the local level and even less at the national level.”
In 2017, the far-right candidate won the first round of the presidential election in Vaucluse with 30.53% of the vote. She had collected 46.55% in the second against Emmanuel Macron.
