After their success in the Classic against OM on Sunday, PSG can already put an end to their season by winning the title on Wednesday.

The finish line for this 2021-2022 season is very close for the Parisians. By winning a disappointing shock against their Marseille runner-up (2-1) on Sunday evening, Mauricio Pochettino’s men have put themselves in a position to conclude this exercise with a new title of champion of France, and this from Wednesday against Angers (9 p.m. ), on the occasion of the 33rd day of Ligue 1.

Before analyzing the contours of this probable success, the time is above all for the accounts of apothecaries in order to definitively endorse this 10th coronation. Six games from the end of the championship, PSG have 74 points, 15 ahead of OM, with a largely favorable goal difference (+42 for the Parisians, +21 for the Marseillais). The calculation is therefore, in reality, rather simple for Mbappé and others: in the event of a better result than the Olympians, Paris will win a new crown. There are therefore two possible scenarios for a Parisian title on Wednesday:

PSG crowned champion if:

– The players of the capital club win against SCO on the lawn of Raymond-Kopa and that OM draws or loses at the Vélodrome against Nantes.

– The Parisians concede a draw against the Angevins and at the same time (the two matches are at 9 p.m.), the Olympians lose to the Nantes.

A draw by the two teams would return the two clubs back to back with still 15 points difference, but with now only… 15 points to be awarded. It would therefore take a huge combination of circumstances (Paris loses all its matches, Marseille wins all its own and ends with a better goal difference) to see the Olympians beat the Parisians at the post on the evening of the 38th day.

Thus, if Lionel Messi does not seize this opportunity to win his first French championship title with PSG against Angers, it could be postponed to Saturday against Lens (9 p.m.) at the Parc des Princes for the 34th day. It will then only be enough to win more than a single point for the Parisians to get their hands on their only – and last – objective of the season.
