In his book Made in France (ed. Hugo Publishing), Hapsatou Sy denounced the complacency of Thierry Ardisson in the face of the controversial remarks of the criticized Eric Zemmour. It detailed the ethical flaws of the host and his methods. The presenter had in return filed a complaint for “public defamation”. A lawsuit that he won, as he announced on social networks on Saturday, November 6, 2021. This news comes two days before the broadcast of a sequence never seen from a 2018 show by Further investigation (France 2).
In this excerpt from Hello Earthlings (Canal), we see Eric Zemmour making condemnable remarks and proposing to Hapsatou Sy to change his first name to “Corinne”. Then followed a debate between the columnist and businesswoman, who admitted, in shock, that it was the most humiliating thing that had been said to her. Faced with Thierry Ardisson’s inaction, Hapsatou Sy insists on the seriousness of the comments made during the show and expresses his wish to file a complaint. “You can laugh, giggle, do whatever you want. You know very well that I will tell you what I think. I’m telling you, I’m going to file a complaint!“, she launches.
“Filing a complaint, it will create a buzz on the Internet, it suits me! It will be on Morandini, that suits me! It will make headlines in all the TV press, and me, that suits me “, replied Thierry Ardisson. Surely not enough to bring down the anger of Hapsatou Sy. While promoting her book in 2019, she said on C to you : “I put them together in the same bag because Eric Zemmour’s fight has become that of Thierry Ardisson. When they are there, both together, fighting against me, I think that society has lost and that it has let it happen which is unacceptable. that is to say exclude a child from the Republic“.
Stéphane Simon, co-producer of Thierry Ardisson’s show then responded to the facts reported in Hapsatou Sy’s book, in Close : “For us, this book is a tissue of bullshit meant only to draw attention to its author. We will not get into the controversy, but on the other hand we will pass it on to our lawyers who are going to enjoy it “.
Hapsatou Sy had indeed filed a complaint against the real / false presidential candidate Eric Zemmour. The trial is due to open in September 2022.
