5:53 p.m. : Warning of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, on the capture of Mariupol : “The elimination of our soldiers, of our men will put an end to all negotiations” of peace between Russia and Ukraine, he thundered in an interview with the Ukraïnska Pravda news website. 5:43 p.m. : Russian forces hit an oil refinery in Lysytchansk, a town near the frontline in eastern Ukraine this morning, local authorities say. “The Russians are systematically targeting it to exhaust the rescuers. There is no fuel there. Only hydrocarbon residues are burning”explains the Ukrainian governor of the Luhansk region, Serguiï Gaïdaï, on his Telegram channel.

10:59 : The last Ukrainian resistance fighters hide in the huge Azovstal factory. Local authorities assure that this battle of Mariupol left 20,000 dead. “We totally ignore the results of this battle, no one can know,” tempers Luc Lacroix, according to which “nobody can have a global vision of the situation.”

10:41 a.m. : The mayor of kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, has once again called on the inhabitants who have left the city not to return there, but to stay in a “safe place”. Russian fire on the kyiv region had been scarce since the end of March, when Moscow withdrew its troops from around the capital, announcing that it wanted to concentrate its offensive on eastern Ukraine.
10:38 : The bombardment this morning of a factory of military equipment manufacturing in particular tanks, in the suburbs of kyiv, was claimed by Moscow. “High-precision, long-range air-to-ground weapons destroyed production buildings of an arms factory in Kyiv”, the Russian Defense Ministry announced in a statement on Telegram.
