The judge indicated that they could be freed after posting bail of one million pesos ($23,000) each, local daily ‘El Nacional’ reported.

The decision is however analyzed by the prosecutors who could appeal.

The crew members – nine Canadians, an Indian and a Dominican – were taken into custody on April 6 after the seizure of 200 packets of cocaine hidden in the plane’s control compartments.

The packages found were sent to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences, according to the daily.

Pivot Airlines had deplored the imprisonment of its crew and expressed concern about their conditions of detention in the Dominican Republic.
