Change of strategy. The Insoumis propose to Europe Ecologie-Les Verts (EELV), the French Communist Party (PCF) and the New Anti-Capitalist Party (NPA) to form a coalition for the legislative elections, whose base would be “a common shared program” established “from” that of Jean-Luc Mélenchon, in three letters made public, Friday, April 15.

The “rebellious”, who did not send their letters to the Socialist Party or the Lutte Ouvrière, suggested that their competitors on the left join a common label, that of the Popular Union, in order to build “a political majority in the National Assembly”.
On the strength of the 21.95% of the votes obtained by their presidential candidate Jean-Luc Mélenchon, they believe that the basis of this majority “must be a shared common program. It would be established on the basis of the one who received the most votes in the presidential election: ‘The future in common’, each maintaining its own program elsewhere. But in legislative action , it will serve as a reference for the votes to be cast”.
They propose to ecologists and communists to meet them to discuss in particular “the constitution of a new Parliament, like the People’s Union Parliament” and “the attribution of the common label for candidacies in the legislative elections”.
With communists and ecologists, the Insoumis stress that their “relations have been seriously degraded during this campaign”after the “often hurtful accusations and [les] appreciations according to which there would exist between us insurmountable difficulties”. “Therefore, a last minute arrangement for simple concerns of electoral rescue of organizations would be misunderstood”they argue, demanding that ecologists and communists engage “to stop the attacks” and to “to explain it to the voters“.
