At the same time that Quebeckers are preparing to take advantage of the long Easter holiday, the Minister of Health calls for caution by “avoiding unnecessary risks”. His message is particularly aimed at the most vulnerable people and residents of RPAs where cases are on the rise.
“We know it, we always have the taste in these weekends to see our loved ones, but let’s manage our risk. We know the virus. We know them, the distancing measures and the importance of wearing our mask, ”said Minister Dubé on Thursday, echoing the words of the acting national director of public health, Dr.r Luc Boileau, who delivered essentially the same message on Wednesday.

The situation in hospitals remains “worrying” as some 13,000 health care workers are absent for reasons related to COVID-19. “The network holds the fort, but the next two weeks will be critical,” argued Minister Dubé. “There will be no surprises, but it will be difficult in the emergency room for the next two weeks,” he said.
Quebec will have to face a spring wave of the influenza virus, which is unusual at this time of year. Minister Dubé reminds us that once again, older people are more vulnerable and are more likely to go to the emergency room.
