A small goal, a narrow victory, and a ticket for the World Cup. The French women’s football team validated, Tuesday, April 12, its ticket for the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand by winning by the smallest of margins (1-0) against Slovenia at the MMArena du Mans, on the last day of European qualifying. The evening scorer Delphine Cascarino delivered the French women on the return from the locker room (48th), after a first period where they had been manhandled by their opponents. Thanks to this eighth success in as many games, Les Bleues have completed an almost perfect qualifying campaign and finished well ahead of Group I (24 points).
