Sur Instagram, Julian Lennon a expliqué pourquoi il avait finalement choisi de chanter la chanson de son père.
« La guerre en Ukraine est une véritable tragédie. […] I always said I would sing the song when we witness the end of the world. The lyrics of the song demonstrate our desire for peace. With this song we are transported to a place where love and unity becomes our reality […] The song is the light at the end of the tunnel that we hope for so much. Due to the violence, millions of families have been forced from their homes to seek asylum. I call on world leaders and all who believe in the message of the song to stand up for refugees!
Julian Lennon has joined other artists who are calling on world leaders to help refugees through the Stand Up For Ukraine campaign.
