The clarification is there.” He felt that the debate would allow us to address “Very important subjects. We are going to talk again about purchasing power, the results of Emmanuel Macron’s policy. I urge all those who do not want to see Mr. Macron in a second term to come together to have a good surprise in the second round.”
“The time for gathering has come”called on franceinfoTV Philippe Ballard, regional councilor National Rally. “For five years, Emmanuel Macron fractured and pitted the French against each other.” He promised that Marine Le Pen “welcomes all who are sincerely patriotic, whether right or left” to vote for her in the second round. After campaign time, “there is a time for gathering and choosing. The future of France depends on it.”
La France insoumise: “No voice should go to the far right”
“No voice should go to the far right because the people have nothing to gain from it”pleaded on France 2 the deputy La France insoumise Adrien Quatennens, after the announcement of the results of the first round. “We will ask our supporters to find out how to proceed, but voting for the far right will not be an option”he added. “There are three blocks in this country. There is no majority for the application of Emmanuel Macron’s program and he must take this into account. No voice should go to the far right.”
“We fail very little but we are building something that will weigh”, estimated for his part on franceinfo Éric Coquerel, deputy La France insoumise of Seine-Saint-Denis. While Jean-Luc Mélenchon called for “not to give a single voice to Marine Le Pen” but not clearly to vote for the outgoing president, Éric Coquerel judges that “It’s up to Mr. Macron to manage to try to get the voters he wants”. France rebellious “will make a consultation with three proposals: blank vote, null vote, or Macron”.
The Republicans: “A painful evening”
“I do not believe that Emmanuel Macron’s score is a membership score. He benefited from the useful vote. I do not consider this to be a victory for him”, reacted Rachida Dati, mayor Les Républicains of the 7th arrondissement of Paris. Mayor LR of the 7th arrondissement of Paris said she was angry: “The debate has been confiscated.” Referring to the second round, she judged that “what is at stake tonight is the future and the destiny of France.” She warned Emmanuel Macron: “Be careful to continue to see the French with arrogance.” Rachida Dati called to vote for the outgoing president “with great seriousness”. “My differences with him are less serious than to see coming to power [le RN].”
For his part, Jean-François Copé “massively calls to vote for Emmanuel Macron”. Guest of France 2, the former minister and member of the Republicans recognized “a painful evening” for his party. “Emmanuel Macron must understand that the game is not at all won for him”he also warned. “He will have to change his way of governing, not so solitary, with a government pact.”
Europe Ecologie – The Greens: “A failure and a disappointment”
“Today, the ball is in Emmanuel Macron’s court. He did everything to have this duel”reacted on France 2 Sandrine Rousseau, considering that the outgoing president “raised the far right”. For the finalist of the environmentalist primary, “it is not in the name of a simple republican roadblock that we can ask these voters to be the finger on the seam of the pants. I will vote Emmanuel Macron and I call for there to be no no voices going to the extreme right.” But, adds Sandrine Rousseau: “It’s at [Emmmanuel Macron] to seek out the voters he has skillfully humiliated throughout his term. Let him go get the people who have had less APL, the people who have had less unemployment benefit, the ‘yellow vests’ and all the environmentalists whom the Climate Law has flouted.
“It’s a bad result. It’s a failure and a disappointment, not just for the greens but also for the fights we carry and risk suffering from this result”recognized on France Inter Delphine Batho, spokesperson for Yannick Jadot and former Minister of Ecology. “You have to take the time to learn all the lessons and lessons.” The member for Deux-Sèvres felt that environmentalists have no “failed to impose in the debate […] the findings with sufficient power on the state of ecological emergency” but also that they have “not sufficiently marked our difference and what distinguishes us from the whole political landscape”. Delphine Batho called to vote Emmanuel Macron for “prevent the far right from gaining responsibilities in France”. She warned: “Nothing is decided and the danger is real.”
Reconquest! : “It’s a vote of hope”
“We welcome this result with great humility. It’s a vote of hope. We are in fourth position, far ahead of the old parties that have existed for decades”, welcomed on France 2 Guillaume Peltier, vice-president of the party Reconquête!. During this campaign, Éric Zemmour “has taken words and actions that will prove him right, you will see that in the months and years to come. I am very proud to support such an honest, sincere and courageous man who takes his responsibilities because for the love of France and despite our differences we call to vote Marine Le Pen to beat Emmanuel Macron.”
“We are disappointed, the score is not good”recognized for his part Antoine Diers, spokesman for Reconquest!. “Moments of radicalism from our candidate have hurt us a lot”, he analyzed. However, for him, “something was born” during this campaign. “It’s the union of the rights.” In this idea, Nicolas Bay, former executive of the RN and current vice-president of the party of Éric Zemmour, called to vote for Marine Le Pen. “The primary objective, in the next fortnight, is not to give a voice for Macron”he assured. “The future of France depends on it.”
Marlène Schiappa: “Emmanuel Macron’s re-election is not certain”
“The re-election of Emmanuel Macron is not acquired”warned Marlène Schiappa on France 2, after the announcement of the results of the first round of the presidential election. “It is now up to us to convince those who voted for Jean-Luc Mélenchon, Fabien Roussel and others”added the Minister for Citizenship. “I thank those who chose Emmanuel Macron in the first round. I also respect those who made another choice, it is democracy.”
“We must hear with great humility and precision, what the voters are telling us this evening”alerted on franceinfo Julien Denormandie, Minister of Agriculture. “Obviously, this country is divided. The abstention (26%) is far too high and I respect all of these warnings expressed”, he added. While the second round is in two weeks, he judged that Marine Le Pen’s project “takes us into the wall” and that of Emmanuel Macron tends to answer all the questions.
Stéphane Le Foll: “The left is far from being able to aspire to govern”
“Tonight’s result was expected as far as Anne Hidalgo is concerned. The surprise is rather the fact that the useful vote played against Valérie Pécresse in a very clear way”estimated on France 2 Stéphane Le Foll, socialist mayor of Le Mans. “Emmanuel Macron’s right leg has been considerably strengthened. The collapse of Valérie Pécresse is proof of this. As for the left, if we add up the votes, we are far from being able to aspire to govern. . There is something wrong and it is a reflection that will have to be conducted. The socialists and the left must mobilize for the legislative elections. In the second round, Stéphane Le Foll will vote “Emmanuel Macron, not for [lui] but because he bears a responsibility”.
