(Monaco) Novak Djokovic is ready to leave behind all the controversy surrounding his refusal to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

As the clay-court season begins with the Monte-Carlo Masters, the 34-year-old Serb says he is still just as motivated to face the world tennis elite with the most prestigious titles at stake.
A winner of 20 Grand Slam singles titles, Djokovic has appeared in just one tournament so far in 2022. He lost in the quarter-finals to Jiri Vesely at the Dubai Championships in February.
Djokovic was unable to defend his Australian Open title last January, having been deported from the country because he was not vaccinated.
More recently, he had to skip tournaments in Indian Wells, Calif., and Miami because he couldn’t travel to the United States for the same reason.
He said he will not get vaccinated in order to have the right to play.
