A nice gesture for a sad birthday. Disappeared on November 25, 2020, Diego Maradona will be honored in Napoli’s next three games. For the occasion, the Neapolitan club will wear a jersey celebrating El Pibe de Oro in his next three Serie A matches, to mark the first anniversary of the star’s death. The stylized face of Maradona, who gave Naples their only two Italian league titles in 1987 and 1990, appears on this collector’s jersey.

The Napoli players, currently leading Serie A with AC Milan, will wear it against Hellas Verona on Sunday at home, Inter Milan on November 21 at San Siro, and Lazio Rome on November 28, also at home in their stadium renamed last year in the name of Diego Maradona.
“A year after his death, Napoli thus honors a great champion, symbol of an era, and icon of world football.”
These shirts will also be sold in three different colors, in only 1,926 copies for each of them, a figure retained in reference to the year the club was founded (1926). “Part of the proceeds will be used for charitable initiatives”, specifies the club whose Diego Maradona wore the colors from 1984 to 1991.
