Superb Nico Hischier play gives Devils victory
Nico Hischier stunned the opposing defense by waltzing it around for about 20 seconds, before eventually cutting to the net and flashing the red light to give the New Jersey Devils the lead with barely a minute left, who eventually prevailed 3-1 against the Dallas Stars on Saturday.
Pavel Zacha drove the final nail in the Stars’ coffin by hitting the mark 10 seconds later.
Ty Smith also hit the target for the Devils, who had lost their last five games before facing the Stars. Fabian Zetterlund had two assists and Nico Daws made 27 saves.
Stars defenseman Ryan Suter was the lone scorer for his team. This was his 100and career net. Jake Oettinger made 20 saves, but the Stars (40-27-4) missed an opportunity to strengthen their hold on the bottom tier to playoff.
