The interpreter of double i posted a video message on social media for his fans. He announced his return there and confided in his new album, born from a personal journey. A new opus in which he promises to tell “the ups and downs”. An achievement carried by the first single, entitled “PS Je t’aime”. “In fact there were three single options, which is also very exciting. (Smile) The question we asked ourselves was: “What do we want to say first on an album that is a little different?”. We asked ourselves: “Do we want to take people by the hand in relation to what they know about me, before then leading them towards something different?”, and that’s why we chosen with “PS: I love you“.”, he explained to the site Purecharts.
Christophe Willem, who admits having worked for several years on this new musical project, spoke in particular of his meeting and his collaboration with Slimane: “We saw each other at Les Enfoirés. One day, we were discussing Amel, Slimane and I about what we were doing at the moment and I explained to them that I was meeting a lot of different teams for my album. Slimane told me that it would make him happy if we worked together. A few weeks later, we found ourselves in Paris in the studio with the team he works with, and this title was born quite spontaneously. It was quite obvious.“
“When I arrived in the studio, he asked me what I wanted to do, what I had already tried for the record, why I hadn’t kept certain things. […] And he told me that it would be insane to simply say “PS: I love you” to the public, to those who, over time, in my career choices, have not followed me, to others who will find myself. It’s like a love story. He wanted me to be cash!”, says the singer.
