At the heart of the claims: the flagrant lack of staff in this establishment of the Clermont University Hospital, specializing in care for the elderly. Indeed, according to the unions of the Louise Michel hospital, at the beginning of March 18 nurses, 20 nursing assistants and nine hospital service agents (ASH).

A situation due to the lack of resources deployed by the hospital, for Sandrine, one of the caregivers: “When caregivers go on sick leave, they are not replacedshe laments. We sometimes find ourselves in degraded service.“
So much so that it can lead to poor treatment of patients, as conceded Manon, a caregiver who has worked at Louise Michel Hospital for three years. For the morning service, they are two for 28 patients.
We have patients ringing the bell, wanting to go to the bathroom or asking for minor care. Sometimes we don’t have time. There are too many patients and not enough staff. – Manon, caregiver
For the CGT representative of Clermont University Hospital, Christophe Cibert, this situation is comparable to the Ehpad Orpéa scandal which erupted at the start of the year. “It should not be assumed that public establishments are free from defects. We would like the population not to wait for a book to come out to react.”
The caregivers hope to mobilize a maximum of signatures before meeting, Tuesday, April 12, the Director General of their establishment. They have already been on a symbolic strike since March 23.
