Friday April 8, two days before the first round of the presidential election, the polling stations are organizing themselves with health rules against Covid-19.

Two days before the first round of the presidential election, the polling stations are being prepared on Friday, April 8. In addition to the traditional voting booths, Plexiglas panels will be installed to protect the assessors. Everyone will be able to vote on Sunday April 10, with or without a mask, vaccinated or sick. “If we know that we have the Covid, I imagine that we come with a mask, that we are careful”says Olivier Thomas, mayor of Marcoussis (Essonne).

In Foucherans (Jura), the mask will be compulsory to vote. “The Covid is gaining ground, so I think for everyone’s good, the mask is mandatory”, argues Christine Riotte, Mayor of Foucherans, behind this decision. Voters are urged to be cautious. “Remember to wash your hands before and after in case you have touched contaminated areas.”advises Damien Mascret, doctor and journalist France Télévisions.
