With his Le Nomade burger, Laurent Thorel finished 3rd in the national final of the 2022 French Burger Cup by Socopa.
Laurent Thorel, restaurateur and former butcher-caterer by training, is currently the Chef and manager of the Cabane à Burger in Pontchâteau and is preparing to launch his franchise next June. Specializing in this American “sandwich”, Laurent Thorel won the western regional final. A sesame for the national final which took place in the wake where each competitor competed in inventiveness for this typical street-food dish.
His famous Nomade burger, which allowed him to climb to 3rd place on the podium, is inspired by his fondest travel memories. For this dish, the flavours, spices, smells and colors are inspired by different countries: Mexico, Spain, America, Morocco… The recipe: pink bread with pistachio chips, curry mayonnaise, roasted pistachio and flower of smoked salt with the steak to add crunch in the mouth.
