Unità Teatrale revives the trestle theater with demanding shows, numerous actors and actresses on stage, elaborate sets and costumes. To celebrate the 400th anniversary of the birth of Molière (1622), Unità Teatrale and its artistic director Jean-Pierre Lanfranchi are bringing to the stage an ambitious program aimed at all audiences. No less than 4 masterpieces by the great French playwright, adapted and translated into the Corsican language, including two presented for the first time. The choice of Unita Teatrale testifies to the vast genius of Molière; the translation work honors the Corsican language, its ability to evoke images, its richness, its earthiness, its poetry and its humour. Molière’s insightful and benevolent gaze on his fellow human beings is still relevant today. On stage, reflection is born from the laughter provoked by his captivating plays that nothing goes out of style. Evviva Moliere!

The UNITÀ TEATRALE Co.
Created by Jean-Pierre Lanfranchi in 1999, brings on stage translations, adaptations and creations in the Corsican language of classical and contemporary plays: Shakespeare, Musset, Chekhov, Camus… The company also creates works by Corsican authors: Ghjacumu Thiers , Jules Gistucci, Marcu Biancarelli… Based in Bastia, it also offers theater workshops for teenagers and adults, as well as polyphonic singing workshops.
