1996
Tiger Woods wins the Las Vegas Invitational, his first victory on the PGA Tour.
1997
He won the Masters Tournament by a record margin of 12 moves and became, at 21, the youngest champion of the tournament. The first of 15 major titles.
2008
Woods gets his hands on his 3and United States Open, his 14and Grand Slam title. A week later, he underwent left knee reconstruction to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament. He will be absent for eight months.
2009
At the wheel of his SUV, the golfer hit a tree and a fire hydrant in front of his house in Windemere, Florida. His multiple extramarital affairs are exposed. His divorce from Elin Nordegren, his wife since 2004, with whom he has two children, was pronounced the following year.
2015
Woods turned in an 85 in the Memorial’s third round, his worst score as a professional. His best ? 61, four times.
He would miss the cut of the final three majors that year, before undergoing his second and third back surgeries. He will not return to play until January 2017.
2017
In April, another back surgery, this time to fuse vertebrae.
A month later, he was arrested and briefly detained in Jupiter, Florida. The police find him asleep at the wheel of his car, on the shoulder, in the early morning, with the engine running. He will attribute the situation to a bad combination of painkillers and antidepressants and plead guilty to a reckless driving charge. Prosecutors drop the drunk driving charge. It’s starting to feel the end…
2018
…and yet. The year 2018 will mark a real comeback for Tiger Woods on the pitch.
2019
After a strong 2018 season, Woods is donning the green Masters champion jacket for the fifth time. His 15 major titles place him three behind Jack Nicklaus.
