France held firm! If you are used to hanging out on Twitter, since April 1, you may have noticed that a huge war was going on between France and Spain. Fortunately, no deaths are to be deplored since it was simply a “pixel war”. To understand what it is, we must first remember that Reddit, the largest forum on the planet, made available to Internet users a channel called “r/place” with a blank page. A page in which everyone, having an account, could, at the rate of one pixel every five minutes, bring their stone to the building for the design of various drawings.
If, at the beginning, it was a simple amusement, a rivalry was born very quickly between the French and Spanish steamers. The reason ? The famous streamer Kameto offered himself a huge space in the bottom left corner of the page to draw a French flag. Something that did not please the Spanish rivals at all, who tried to erase the tricolor flag on numerous occasions.

This was without counting on the power of Kameto, its community, and other famous French steamers such as Inoxtag, Michou, Squeezie, or even Zerator. After receiving a “call for help” from their colleague and friend, the latter also mobilized by asking their entire community to “help the country” and face the onslaught of the Spaniards so that their pixels do not make the French flag disappear.
With the efforts of everyone, our flag held firm throughout the night and this gave new ideas to Internet users who, over the hours, added other French symbols to the proudly defended box. Zidane, the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, or even a crescent… Just as many symbols dear to the French have taken their place on the white page of Reddit which has brought Spanish steamers off their hinges. Politicians, sportsmen, and of course famous Youtubers have launched calls from April 1 to April 4, the end date of the “experiment”, so that the French box holds firm.
Result of the races, France took the upper hand over Spain which, like any bad loser, accused our steamers of having used bots to counter their attack. A defeat that the rivals do not seem to digest…
