War has been raging in Ukraine for more than a month now. Russian President Vladimir Putin decided on February 24 to invade the neighboring country of his by sending his military troops. Several deaths are recorded every day, including hundreds recently in the town of Boutcha where a “deliberate massacre” took place according to the latest information. In an attempt to escape the worst, more than 4.2 million Ukrainians have fled their nation according to figures from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. Among them there would be 1.5 million children.
To protect and support them, several associations have been mobilizing for several weeks, including Unicef, which ensures set up safe spaces where children and women have access to many services and valuable advice for their journeys. These spaces also help to identify unaccompanied and separated children from their families.
Tuesday April 5, 2022, on W9, a panel of artists agreed to meet to raise funds for Unicef and thus come to the aid of child victims of war. Garou, Benabar, Anne SilaJoyce Jonathan, Chimene Badi, Ben Uncle Soul, Philippe Campion but also Jane Birkin or the troupe of Lion King will perform on stage for the show Tonight, we sing for Unicef - Urgence Ukraine. The show will be presented by host Jérôme Anthony and ex-Miss France Élodie Gossuin.
As evidenced by the photos in our slideshow, beautiful and memorable moments are expected during the evening but also very moving moments since the invited personalities will be accompanied by young singers from choirs from all over France and for whom it will be from their first scene.
